Encarnacion is a major city in Paraguay. It is situated on the Upper Parana River, opposite Posadas, Argentina in the south east of the country and has a population of around 60,000. The city is a busy commercial, manufacturing, and communications centre.  It industries include processing lumber, tea, tobacco, cotton, corn, rice, and cattle from the hinterland.
