Cali is a major city in Colombia. It is situated on the Cali River in the Cauca Valley at an elevation of 1,014 metres in the south west of the country and has a population of approximately 1.5 million people. It is both an agricultural and industrial centre. Agricultural products include sugarcane, coffee, cotton, soybeans, beef, dairy, and poultry. Industries include the manufacture of printing paper, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
