Concepcion is a major city in Chile. It is situated near the mouth of the Bío-Bío River in the south of the the country and has a population of around 350,000. It is Chile's second largest city. Its main industries include a steel mill, a petroleum refinery, and a chemical complex. Other industries include textiles, food processing, woodworking, glassmaking, brewing,  a paper factory, and a cotton mill. Most of Chile's coal is mined near the city.
