Coolangatta is  a city that forms part of the Gold Coast urban complex which  extends for 40 kilometres along the southern coastline of Queensland from Paradise Point to Tweed Heads just across the border in New South Wales. It is situated on the New South Wales / Queensland border directly adjacent to Tweed Heads. Due to the time differences between the two states when daylight saving operates in the summer months it is one of the few places in the world where you have to reset your watch every time you cross the road in the centre of town. Coolangatta has some light industry but this is largely related to the tourist trade. It is mainly a tourist resort with a wide variety of attractions and fantastic beaches.
