What to wear

Casual dress is the norm in Australia, although suits and sports coats are common among the business community. Most restaurants, clubs and pubs are happy to allow patrons in neat casual wear, although enclosed shoes are required in most establishments. Due to the warm climate it is most advisable to wear easily removed layers of lighter clothing, topped with a light windproof jacket which is easily removed. Some of the top class restaurants may require a suit or sports jacket with a collared shirt.

Visas

International visitors to Australia are required to be in possession of a valid passport and visa to obtain entry into the country. (New Zealand citizens only require a valid passport) Visas are issued from Australian Embassies and Consulates around the world.

Health

International visitors to Australia are not required to have vaccinations unless they have visited a Yellow-Fever infected area within six (6) days prior to their arrival. There are 24 hour medical centres around the city which provide medical care. In the event of a medical emergency, dial 000 from any phone (free call) to contact the ambulance service.
