Kowloon is part of the Special Administrative Region of China. It sits north of Hong Kong Island on the mainland. It covers an area of only 12 square kilometres, all of which is crammed with high rise buildings. The area is full of shops and markets as well a huge variety of historic sites. Unlike on Hong Kong Island, there's no tram to ferry you around; but areas of interest are not spaced too far apart, and these are the areas with the highest concentration of hotels, restaurants and amenities.
