Xi'an is the capital city of the Shaanxi Province of China. The city sits some 500 metres above sea level and covers an area of approximately 16,800 square kilometres. It has a population in excess of 6 million people. It is probably best known for it's museum of the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses and for being "the Home of Calligraphy". Aside from being a major tourist destination and historical city, today Xi'an is an important industrial and manufacturing centre. Despite the incredible history that Xi'an carries, it is a modern and prosperous area. The nightlife here is reasonably good and Xian's University is considered to be one of the best in China.
