Siem Reap is a major town in north west Cambodia. It is situated on the banks of the Siemréab River and has a population of around 15,000. It is linked to Phnom Penh and neighbouring areas by a national highway. The town has a pharmaceutical production centre, a hog-breeding facility, agricultural-machinery workshops, a crocodile farm, and an international airport. Its' main tourist attraction are the ruins of the ancient city of Angkor Thom and the giant temple of Angkor Wat.
