Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia.. It is situated on the confluence of the Basak , Sab, and Mekong rivers in the south of the country and has a population of approximately 850,000.  Although it is 290 kilometres from the sea, Phnom Penh is a major port in the Mekong River valley. The city trades in dried fish, corn , cotton, and pepper, although its' main economic income is tourism.
