N'Djamena is the capital city of Chad. It is situated on the Chari River at its confluence with the Logone River on the south west border adjacent to Cameroon and has apopulation of around 600,000. It is in the centre of cotton-growing, cattle-raising, and fishing areas and is thus an important market site. It has a refrigerated slaughterhouse and is the headquarters of many financial and light-industrial firms. |
