Annaba is Algeria's chief exporter of minerals, mainly iron ore and phosphates from the Tébessa deposits to the southeast. It is surrounded by fertile farms, forests, and mines, and also serves as a trading and fishing port. Annaba's major industries include an iron and steel complex, a fertilizer plant, automobile and railway shops, and aluminium works. |
